Article 1: Introduction
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Petira (the "Service"), a mobile application for sharing pet photos, asking and answering pet care questions, and communicating with other pet parents through chat and paid video calls. By creating an account, you agree to these Terms.
Article 2: Eligibility
Petira is available only to users who are 18 years of age or older. By registering, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. We do not knowingly permit use of the Service by anyone under 18.
Article 3: Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You may not create multiple accounts, share your account with others, or transfer your account to a third party.
Article 4: Content You Post
You retain ownership of the pet photos, questions, answers, and messages you post. By posting content, you grant Petira a non-exclusive license to display that content within the Service. You are solely responsible for the content you post and must have the right to share it.
Article 5: Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
(1) Post content that is sexual, violent, hateful, or promotes animal abuse or neglect
(2) Harass, impersonate, or defame other users
(3) Use the Service to solicit dating, romantic, or commercial relationships unrelated to pet care
(4) Spam other users or send excessive unsolicited messages
(5) Attempt to circumvent blocking, reporting, or age-verification features
(6) Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
Article 6: The "Thanks" Gratitude Feature
Petira provides a free daily allowance of "Thanks" that users may send to helpful answers in the Q&A forum. Thanks cannot be purchased, exchanged for cash, transferred between users outside of this mechanism, or carried over between days. Unused Thanks expire at the end of each day. Titles awarded for cumulative Thanks received are for recognition only and do not represent professional or veterinary qualifications.
Article 7: Paid Video Call Tickets
Video calls between users require a Call Ticket, purchased directly through the App Store or Google Play at the price shown at time of purchase. A ticket is only consumed when the recipient answers the call; unanswered or declined calls do not consume a ticket. Tickets have no cash value, cannot be refunded except as required by law or platform policy, and cannot be transferred between accounts.
Article 8: Reporting and Blocking
Petira provides tools to report content or users and to block other users. We may review reported content and suspend or remove accounts that violate these Terms, at our discretion.
Article 9: Account Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in prohibited conduct, or misuse the Service. You may delete your account at any time from within the app.
Article 10: Disclaimer
Petira is a platform for pet owners to share experiences and opinions. Content shared by other users, including answers in the Q&A forum, is not professional veterinary advice. Always consult a licensed veterinarian for medical concerns about your pet.
Article 11: Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Petira and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, or for disputes between users.
Article 12: Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
